This large corner horn was designed by Ketil Parow of the Lowther Club of Norway. It stands about 4’ tall, 3’ deep and 16” wide. It requires a corner, and a larger room.. But it rewards you with some of the finest full range sound to be found. No crossover, no different drivers to integrate, an easy load for amplifiers, if you can fit these into your listening room, you ought to try them. We will be updating this page shortly, showing some pictures of our first unit and pricing. We expect pricing to be comparable to the Medallion at $1600 for a flat kit, $2500 for an assembled unit, but this is our rough estimate.
This picture is from Ketil’s web site, and will give you an idea of what it looks like an how big it is. We will have a rounded front edge, and a grill cover on ours. Units will be built using ¾ inch Baltic Birch, a great material for horns. Although MDF is cheaper, a much greater thickness is required to maintain the stiffness that a good horn requires. Detailed plans will be available in foot-inch-fraction format, full sized. Ketil makes plans and information available free on his website, and you may want to look at it. You can build your own, as many have done. These are met with consistent positive reviews from everyone who has gone through the effort to build them, or has listened to them. A very special design. |
