Open Baffles
A number of customers have now built open baffle speakers with great success. Dick Olsher designed his BassZilla speaker around a DX4 in an open baffle. I have built these, and continue to play around with Lowthers in open baffles. The fun factor is tremendous, with an open, clear sound and wide imaging. The experiment is cheap, with a piece of plywood being the only requirement. Several customers are in the process of working on these who are reporting great satisfaction with the result.
